Halabja Revival After 3/16 



Halabja Scientific Research Center for Chemical Weapons Residues Studies at Sulaimani Polytechnic University held a meeting to serve the province .Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at 10 am in the hall of the monument of martyrs of Halabja. Alan Faraidoon Ali Amin, Rector of Sulaimani Polytechnic University; Soran Abubakr, Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education; Dana Ahmad Mustafa, Assistant Rector for Administrative and Financial Affairs and Luqman Abdulqadir, President of the Association of Chemical Weapons Victims and a significant number of representatives of party and government agencies, civil society organizations and teachers, Halabja Research Center for Chemical Weapons Studies. Revival of Halabja after 3/1.

First, the participants stood in silence for a minute for the souls of the martyrs of Halabja and all the martyrs of the Kurdistan freedom path, then by Prof. Alan Faraidoon Ali Amin In a speech, the President of Sulaimani Polytechnic University welcomed the guests of the scientific meeting and thanked Halabja Technical College of Practical Sciences for organizing the event.

In his speech, the president of Sulaimani Polytechnic University referred to the serious crime committed against Halabja in 1988/3/16 by the leaders of the destroyed Ba'ath regime, resulting in 5,000 innocent citizens killed and hundreds of people injured and displaced.

He stressed that everyone should help and support the revival of this beloved city, which has not been compensated according to the need and the magnitude of the crime committed against it.He also said that we in Sulaimani Polytechnic University in our first attempt to revive the higher education sector and serve the students of this region We opened Halabja Technical Institute and then Halabja Technical College of Practical Sciences. So far, thousands of students have graduated and become self-employed.

P.D. Alan Faraidoon Ali Amin  said that due to the great needs of the region, last year in another attempt on 2021/1/31 we decided (Halabja Research Center for the Study of Chemical Weapons Residues)  in Halabja so that we can serve the people of the region and conduct scientific field research on chemical weapons residues and various diseases.
